Which Moon Witch are you?
Women’s historical relationship with the Moon
In most stories the Moon is believed to be the woman & the Sun the man. Greek mythology has Apollo and Artemis, Roman mythology has Luna and Sol, Slavic mythology has Dazhbog and Jutrobog.
The Mayas thought the phases of the moon mirrored the phases of a woman’s cycle. Our sleep cycles used to follow the sun and women’s ovulation was guided naturally by the brightness of the full moon. It is no coincidence that the menstrual cycle is synced up to the cycle of the moon, occurring around every 28ish days.
But as a result of the constant exposure of artificial light from our screens, electric lights inside, street lights, pollutants and stress prevalent in this digital age, the natural cycles of our bodies have become interrupted.
Cyclical living offers us the opportunity to move beyond the constraints of linear time and embrace the waxing and waning of life. Each cycle represents a transformative process with a beginning, middle, and end, guiding our evolution. By aligning ourselves with the rhythms and cycles of our body and nature, we connect & tune into our inner wisdom, stepping into our highest selves & truths.
